Eyelid surgery includes the therapeutic or cosmetic removal of various lesions (chalazia, cysts) and procedures aimed at repositioning an eyelid that is abnormally turned inward (entropion) or outward (ectropion). Regarding conjunctival surgery, the most common lesion to be removed is the pterygium, a vascularized thickening of the conjunctiva that tends to cover the cornea.
